Introduction

My name is Jessica Burkholder and I was born here in Springfield, IL. I have lived here all of my life. I have traveled out of the country two times. Once to Guatemala and the other time to Nicaragua. Both were missions trips with my church. In Guatemala, our group went up into the mountains to help at different churches. We did children's programs everyday which was the highlight of the trip for me. In Nicaragua, we worked at a school for the deaf. We helped around the school but we also interacted with the children. I know sign language but some of the signs that they use are different then what I was used to using.

I have my Associates degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on my Bachelor's degree. I am a math major since I can't major in education here. I hope to one day be an elementary teacher. I love working with children. Right now I am a full time student and I work two jobs, so that keeps me busy. On Wednesday nights I teach a kindergarten girls class at my church. Between school and working and all of my other commitments that I have, I really do not have much time left for anything else. I am very involved at my church with the children as well as the audio/visual department that we have. My passion is with children but I love to put videos together for the church and for others who need something put together. That's about it for now.
